Traffic Tickets Tales: 2006 Year in Review

As we wrap up the year and say goodbye to 2006, we thought it would be helpful to share some traffic school stories with our readers. After all, as online traffic school operators, it's our duty to promote safe driving out on our nation's highways and byways. If we can offer some advice that will help you stay safe out there in 2007, everybody wins.

And if we can help drivers avoid getting a traffic ticket and ultimately avoid attending traffic school, we'll all be better off.

So today, we're sharing some stories that students of TrafficSchoolOnline.com have shared with us. These stories are designed to help you think twice and stay safe on the road.

Rachel Runs a Red Light

It's 9:30am. Rachel, a Realtor in Carlsbad, California, is late for an appointment with a potential client. She can't afford to miss the meeting and potentially lose out on the commission. She's stopped at a red light. Rachel knows that going through the red light will result in a traffic ticket and maybe a visit to traffic school. She's been sitting here for 20 seconds but it seems more like 20 minutes. Nobody is around her. Rachel decides to run the red light and heads northbound.

As Rachel finishes crossing through the large intersection, a waiting police cruiser prepares to write a ticket. Rachel knows she's going to traffic school.

Rachel ends up missing her appointment. But she doesn't waste any of her other free time in attempting to dismiss her traffic ticket. That's because Rachel opts to attend an online traffic school -- TrafficSchoolOnline.com - to help dismiss her traffic ticket and reduce her fine.

Larry and the Illegal Left Turn

Traffic is brutal at 5:30 pm in Phoenix, Arizona. Larry, a financial consultant, is attempting to turn left into a grocery store parking lot. There are no lights to guide him safely across the intersection.

A car approaching from the opposite direction stops to let him pass. Larry continues making his left turn into the plaza, thanking the driver with a cordial wave. Out of nowhere, a truck driving in the far right lane hits Larry's car as he nears completion of his turn.

Seemingly shaken, Larry assumes that this accident is not his fault. After all, the truck hit him. Unfortunately, much to his dismay, Larry is given a ticket by the Phoenix Police Department. It turns out Larry made an unsafe left turn. He attends traffic school to correct his traffic violation and learn from his mistakes.

In both of these situations, the names of the characters have been changed to protect the identities of the traffic violators. The situations, however, are real. They happened to TrafficSchoolOnline.com students and they continue to happen, daily, to drivers across the nation.

If you don't want to end up in their shoes with a traffic ticket to dismiss and a traffic school to attend, think twice before you make an unsafe driving decision. What's around the corner? Who's watching my driving habits? Is there a chance I could endanger someone? These are the questions you need to ask to promote driver safety so that you can avoid attending traffic school.

Every time you make a driving decision, think about the consequences or be prepared to pay the price in the form of a ticket. You'll stay out of traffic school -- and out of our next article.

Stay safe out there.
